I would like to give special thanks to Fresh Air for stopping by the studio and speakin’ the REAL … the support is greatly appreciated and we will most def rock all the music you put out! Props to our host Realism for holding down the flawless Q&A and to Wicked and Presto for blessin’ the decks with the Dilla bangers….
Secondly, big ups to all our Beat Suite supporters — Last night was a HUGE success and we hope to keep all the dope hip-hop flavor bumpin’ in your speakers each week! It is very unfortunate that one of the best producers in the game, J Dilla aka Jay Dee has gone before us, and we feel blessed to be able to lay down some of his dopest work in production. Our deepest condolences go out to the Yancey family. May he rest in peace with the rest of all of the fallen but never forgetten artists of our time.
It should be noted that Dilla’s new album “Donuts” was released Feb. 7th, the same day he was born. His mission was completed 3 days later. Jay Dee was 32.
R.I.P. James Yancey aka Jay Dee aka J Dilla (1974-2006)
Respect.
